Functional Human
About Fx Human
Fx Human didn't start in a clinic. It started on the beach. For over a year we ran free weekly movement classes on the beaches of Southwest Florida. Just movement, play, fresh air, and real people showing up every weekend to feel good and have fun. It was our way of giving back to a community we love and putting the fun back into function.
Along the way we partnered with the YMCA and Sarasota County to bring the program to different settings and reach even more people across the area.
Those classes brought together golfers, retirees, weekend warriors, and everyone in between. People who just wanted to move better, feel better, and actually enjoy doing it. The energy was real and the results spoke for themselves.
That experience showed us what was possible when you remove the barriers and bring wellness to where people actually are. So we took it further. Fx Human evolved into a clinician-led mobile service, bringing physical and occupational therapist-led recovery and performance sessions directly to you.
Same heart, higher level. Built to help you recover smarter, move better, and keep doing the activities you love for as long as possible.

The Humans Behind the Function
We're Phil and Michelle, the husband and wife team behind Functional (Fx) Human. Two people with one shared obsession: helping people feel good, move well, and stay active for life.
Phil is a licensed occupational therapist who brings a clinical eye to every session. His approach is hands-on, precise, and built around real life movement so what happens in a session actually carries over to the golf course, the tennis court, and everywhere in between.
Michelle is a certified life coach and meditation teacher who understands that performance and recovery are as much mental as they are physical. She brings breathwork, mindset, and sustainable behavior change into the Fx Human approach so the results actually stick.
Together we built Fx Human around a simple belief: that keeping people happy, healthy, and active in the activities they love is the highest form of care we can offer.
